Our Story

The members of Dallas United Crew’s PINK Dragon Boat team may seem an unlikely assembly of women. Our ages span several decades and we represent diverse backgrounds, views, and affiliations. Most came to the unique sport of dragon boating with no previous experience and little athletic background. The one defining factor that brought us together was being on the receiving end of a breast cancer diagnosis.

Since introducing Breast Cancer Survivor (BCS) Dragon Boating to the DFW area in 2015, DUC Pink has welcomed over 100 teammates and competed in festivals both domestically and internationally. While race days are exciting — with our pink jerseys, pink life vests, and for some, pink hair — the magic really happens on our home water at White Rock Lake. It’s there that we meet each week — eager to support, encourage, and inspire each other. We work together, paddling in unison, and propel a 40 foot boat through the water. And in the process, claim a small victory over the diagnosis that brought us together. Paddles Up!

Our Family

DUC Pink is proud to be part of the Dallas United Crew family. Since it's inception in 2002, Dallas United has grown from a single program with a competitive high school rowing team to an urban water sports center and non-profit, offering competitive and recreation oar and paddle sports.
